This morning (like every morning), I was walking Chico around the lake to do his business. Happened upon the same turtle from yesterday sunning himself again. This time I couldn't get as close because he was ready to dive in as I was trying to get phone camera working (one day I'll figure out how to work it quickly) You'll probably want to click on image to view … [Read more...] about Duck attack!

How accurate are calorie monitors?
I decided to experiment and see how accurate calorie monitors are. Cardio machines such as bikes and treadmills use standard formulas to figure out how many calories are being burned. However, important factors aren't taken into consideration: weight (unless the machine does have the capability to insert that info), body fat percentage and level of fitness. A person with … [Read more...] about How accurate are calorie monitors?
So, you say you have no time to make dinner
So many people have a lousy excuse claim they have no time to make dinner. They say they're in a rush, they're hurried after work, their kids have practice, it costs too much, blah blah blah. I posted a question on Facebook: how many wait until the weekend to really cook, enjoy food? or do you prepare food every day? Here are some of the responses: Christie … [Read more...] about So, you say you have no time to make dinner
Do you pay attention to your BP & Pulse?
How many of you monitor your blood pressure and/or your pulse(heart rate)? I do on occasion and this morning I'm kinda bummed. My BP is 103/70 which is actually a bit high for me. Is it worth it? do you really want it?
Many people deal with emotional eating, giving into their cravings, over eating and other eating issues. Yesterday the gov't introduced the new food plate, doing away with the original food pyramid. What do you think of it? We discussed it last evening on wellness chat on Twitter. Many feel it's a good guideline for children and those who need nutritional coaching but yet others (myself included) don't think we need the government telling us what we should/shouldn't … [Read more...] about What are your thoughts on the new plate vs the food pyramid?
