Duck attack!

This morning (like every morning), I was walking Chico around the lake to do his business.

Happened upon the same turtle from yesterday sunning himself again.
This time I couldn’t get as close because he was ready to dive in as I was trying to get phone camera working (one day I’ll figure out how to work it quickly)

So, Chico and I are minding our own business…just walking, thinking (me), doing business (chico)
Then all of a sudden 3 HUGE (and seriously compared to chico anything over 5 lbs is huge!) ducks come flying across lake at us.
Now, most people already know I fear ducks (big time)!
So, I see 3 big ducks swooping in on us but Chico’s doing his doo-dy (did I really just type that?!)
One duck lands right near Chico and starts going at him, so now I’m pulling Chico who’s still oblivious to ducks.
One comes at me and the third one goes behind the bush that Chico was next to.
Duck #1 goes after Chico again, I pick up Chico and walk quickly…
I’m not about to run away from ducks in the event people are watching out the windows (we do live in a huge complex).
I’m not going to show up on YouTube as “look at lady RUNNING from DUCKS holding a CHIHUAHUA”.
So, we escaped the attack ducks!
Found out why they attacked, there are eggs in the bush by Chico’s bathroom.
Meanwhile, I don’t think Chico was even aware of anything going on (or he had to really finish is biz) but then again he’s not afraid of much seeing how he gets along great with the doberman
when he goes to visit him at the ex’s.

While this isn’t my doberman in the video below (mine’s red as you can see in pic above), it was the first video that came up when I searched “duck attack”
and to my bestest friend Julie, SEE ducks DO ATTACK! (she tried to convince me they don’t!)

So, now that my day has officially been adrenaline started I can get to more peaceful happenings (hopefully) and no more duck attacks!
Think I’ll stay away from that side of the lake on our walks later!

    Ducks will attack. When I was growing up, I had ducks, big bro had chickens. I had a duck named Frankie. Big old male muscovy duck (like the ones around here.) Any time you walked into the pen, he attacked, he also killed baby chickens and ducks. A real rogue. He was relocated to a local lake. All the other ducks were mellow.

    A duck biting you won’t hurt – it’s kind of like getting snipped by plastic tongs. But they have nails and will scratch.

    I personally think a youtube vid of Tara runs from ducks would be priceless!
