Friday again…
Time for Fitspo Friday
Where I feature a person who is inspiring in the fitness/weight/health field.
I’ve known Jenn Givler for years now!
She’s inspirational in more ways than just fitness, yoga and weight.
Jenn is an excellent friend and has accomplished so much…
Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
Most of my life, I was a dancer and fitness enthusiast. That is, until I
got pregnant. I ended up putting on 90 pounds, and I spent 7 years almost
never exercising. Finally in 2009, I got back to it, and I’ve been going
strong ever since.
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
I actually started my healthy living journey when I discovered that I had
been suffering from depression. A psychologist friend of mine reminded me
that regular fitness was a good way to help manage depression. I was
determined to work through it without the use of anti-depressants. What
keeps me motivated is how I feel when I’m exercising regularly – I feel
strong, energized, and empowered.
Q: What are some of your goals?
Right now, my goal for 2012 is to run a 10K, and to run a 5K trail running
race. It’s funny because I never thought I’d set “running” goals – but
here I am and I’m really excited about it.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
This past year, I ran my first obstacle race. It was so much fun. That is
something I never thought I’d be able to do.
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
I am high energy! Most people wonder how I can stay “up” most of the
time… it’s just who I am – what can I say, I love life!
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
Bottom line – we are all TRULY in control of our lives. We have the power
in us to do whatever it is that we want. Look around, there are all kinds
of people accomplishing amazing things – you can be one of those people.
You can have the life you want – you just have to take steps every day in
the direction you want to go.
