Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
A: Yes and No. I was an athlete from the moment I could move. I tried everything, but at the age of 6 I told my mom one day after swim-team practice I wanted to be a diver. We started lessons a week later. I dived as a junior Olympic diver, competed in high school, and then in college competed division I. I was pretty much in the pool 40 hours a week for nearly 20 years. I knew that food was fuel, and how to feed my body. I set regular goals and worked hard to achieve them.
Post College, I was done diving for the first time in nearly 20 years, and floundered for a while. Then I met the love of my life, moved to Las Vegas, and had a baby. I thought I had to take care of everyone else first, and didn’t make fitness a priortiy. Soon enough I looked in the mirror and didn’t like who I saw. I was happy in every other aspect of my life, except with my weight.
In 2011 I realized I needed to make a change and started making fitness a priority again. I have now done my first 40 mile bike ride, and re-discovered a love of bikram yoga. I am also finding a new love for lifting weights!! 2012 is going to be my year. I still have a long way to go, but my heart is in it to win it!
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
A: Knowing my son is watching me and learning from my habits. I want him to see his mother as an active, happy, and healthy person. I also would like to have another baby, and my desire to have a healthy, fit pregnancy this time around keeps me going to the gym. Okay, maybe this sparkly dress too! How fun this would be to wear!?

Q: What is your favorite workout?
A: I am crushing big time on lifting right now – but I love Bikram.
Q: What are some of your goals?
A: Finish a 60 mile bike ride. To meet my weight loss goal this year. To stop body-snarking!
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
A: Snagging my hubs and marrying him. Giving birth to a healthy 10lb 2oz baby boy. Signing up and doing a 40 mile bike ride. My blog. I love to write, and write what I love!
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
I HATE odd numbers!
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
I love the quote “A year from now you will wish you had started today” – Karen Lamb. You CAN do this, you CAN change, and YOU ARE WORTH IT!
