If you don’t take care of your body, how do you expect your body to take care of you?
~Marie T. Freeman
Are you taking care of your body?
Are you eating healthy?
Are you exercising?
Are you drinking enough water?
Do you need any nutritional supplements?
Do you know if you have any deficiencies?
The greatest wealth is health.
~Virgil
I know that in hard economic times, it’s ‘hard’ to eat healthy…
rather for some it’s ‘hard’ to justify eating healthy, whole foods.
But, in the long run you have a choice…
eat processed junk, fast food and possibly get sick, gain weight, have health issues or
eat healthy whole foods and usually live a healthy life.
Many believe that processed food and junk foods are cheaper but, that’s not always necessarily the case.
Do the math…you can eat a fast food ‘value meal’ for something like $7 now.
Or, with that same $7 you can buy a pound of organic chicken for $4 or $5, buy some veggies and brown rice and you have a homemade healthy meal-
Actually more than one meal!
Or with that $7 you can buy a variety of veggies and make a stir fry with brown rice, noodles, etc. and it’d make multiple meals for the same cost of that one
unhealthy, fat laden, sodium overloaded fast food meal.
So, it’s not really about the money (unless you’re living on Ramon Noodles or Mac N Cheese).
Not to mention, in the long run the ill effects and damage you’re doing to your body eating garbage will cost you more…
dr visits, meds, shortened lifespan, health issues, limitations on your life and ability to function normally.
It’s most likely about convenience and ease more than financial situations.
Yes, I guess it is easier, more convenient to drive through and grab your food already prepared for you.
Picture this though, is it going to be more convenient and easier to get around later in life if you incur health or weight issues?
Every action you take today, every choice you make today will affect your future.
When it comes to eating right and exercising, there is no “I’ll start tomorrow.”
Tomorrow is disease.
~Terri Guillemets
Start habits that you can stick with and make a life time commitment to.
Start off slowly and in moderation.
Don’t have an all or nothing mentality (I know, sometimes it’s hard!)
But, you can do it!
This is going to be a daily journey, a daily call to action…starting right now!
The benefits of exercising are emotional and physical but only you can exercise, nobody can do it for you.
You need to make that decision to get up and get active.
Whether you work out to a DVD, go for a walk, or ride bikes as a family…do something!
Get active and have fun doing it, so that you’ll want to keep doing it!
and remember this quote:
It’s not that some people have will power and some don’t.
It’s that some people are ready to change and others aren’t.
~James Gordon M.D.
So for your health and longevity be one of those people who is ready to change!
