“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.”
~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Notice the key word in both the image and the quote is do.
Do means to perform, to execute.
We may know what we have to or need to do but the doing part doesn’t come as easily.
It takes effort, work, sweat, perseverance, dedication to do what we set out to do.
Some will take action.
Others won’t.
If you truly want to be who you want to be,
get up and do whatever it takes to accomplish that.
You have to begin…
if you want to be a runner…go out and run, even if you have to start with jogging, go…do it, and keep doing it!
if you want to be a psychiatrist…go to school…do it
if you want to be a bodybuilder or fitness competitor…you’re going to have to go pick up weights…do it, and keep doing it!
if you want to be a dancer…you’re going to have to take lessons…do it
if you want to be a dietitian…educate yourself…do it
if you want to be a doctor…go to school…and more school…do it
Whatever it is you want to be…take the steps…do it
My walk in life has changed so many times and what I thought I wanted to do isn’t really what I want to do nor was called to do apparently. Being a doctor is one of the highest profession in helping people, this article will tell you all.
I’m coming full circle to where I was 20+ years ago, wanting to be a weight loss coach, nutritionist and few other positions that will help people get in shape, lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle.
Had I kept doing it all these years I’d be in a much better spot now than starting off where I currently am.
Then, I was in the gym before 5 a.m. training and then working in the gym as a trainer.
I maintained a weight of no more than 118 pounds and was constantly active.
It’s going to take a lot of sweat, energy, drive, motivation and work to get to where I want to be.
Over the years, I stopped working out, I stopped running (though have recently started to run again), I gained a lot of weight (80+ lbs–which actually may help me help weight loss clients more so now since I’ve been there, done that and can help them from personally experiencing some of the emotions, issues they are dealing with firsthand.
It’s going to take work, but I have to do it to be who I want to be.
What do you want to be?
Are you doing what you have to?
