Slow and steady are not terms that are synonymous with Tara
I’m S L O W L Y learning them though.
I don’t have a choice if I want to be smart about things (back, hip, leg).
As you may (or may not) know, I frostbit my back last week because I had back/hip issues and use ice packs directly on my skin (I can’t feel it if I use a towel or anything between me and the ice pack).
Needless to say, it’s slowly healing and I mean SLOWLY
Not happy at how long it’s taking…
Then we have the fact that I have to go SLOWLY on the bike (and any other activity I do).
Not feeling the love there either.
I’m used to 90 minute bike rides.
Last night I did a whopping 20 min ride… *sigh*
I’m not good with this whole SLOW thing…really…I’m not…
Though, I am learning.
I’ve slowed down in my business ideas and registering domains (much to Technical Confusion a/k/a Joann‘s liking).
At one point I had over 150 domains, and over 15 sites…
now I have I think 7 domains and 5 sites?
I’ve been taking time and thinking things through before running with ideas.
So that area I have slowed down in.
I want to speed through and put 2011 and the first few weeks of January behind already.
I want to hurry and get clients and get WillWearYourAd.com going full speed ahead! (which is good for the clients)
There are times when slowing down is good…savor each day and what it holds
When you’re enjoying time with your kids (or family).
When you’re working on a project that requires a lot of thought & attention to detail.
When you’re starting your training after an injury *sigh*
When you’re beginning a new exercise program or weight loss program….slow and steady is best so you don’t get burnt out or do too much too soon and lose motivation and give up.
Question of the day
Are you a slow & steady type of person?
Or full throttle ahead?

I tend to be a “quick” type of person which usually leads to trouble like injuries, so I too would like to slow down. Good luck with slowing down!

Definitely not slow and steady by nature, but have learned that with running (and anything regarding exercise) it’s the smartest way to go forward. However, with other things in life, I enjoy jumping right in – taking things slow drives me insane!
I agree with your reasons/times for doing things slow!! Hope you continue to heal and recover!!
