Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
Throughout high school I was very active as I played tennis and volleyball. I had
practice every night, yet could eat basically anything I wanted. (Oh to be young
again!) When I went to college, I became less active – gaining weight along the way.
However, a stomach disorder caused me to lose the weight I had gained, along with
even more. (Not a good thing by any means.) After struggling with disordered eating,
I learned what being healthy meant. Everything in moderation! I now run, crosstrain
and strength train at least 5 days a week and eat healthy foods. However, I also
know that I love ice cream and chocolate – and am not willing to give those up!
Learning to be happy with being healthy has helped me in so many ways!
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
There are many things that keep me motivated! Staying healthy and strong is
important to me – and that’s a great motivator within itself. I also want to be a
great role model to my female cousins – as well as my blog readers! Setting goals
for myself, not over-doing it and keeping things in moderation is what keeps me
going.
Q: What is your favorite workout?
I love lacing up my shoes and heading out for a run! (A year ago you would have
never heard those words from me…) I love that I’m able to do this workout anywhere –
and love the feeling I get after a run. I also love spin class! It’s a fun and
sweaty workout – two of my favorite things!
Q: What are some of your goals?
I have quite a few goals for 2012! Most of all, I want to continue to stay healthy
and strong. I would like to continue strength training as I can see the difference
it is making! I also hope to add new and fun meals to our lives (specifically
gluten-free ones). And my secret goal – to run a sub 2 hour half marathon.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
There are many things that I am proud of in my life! 2011 was definitely a year of
accomplishments for me. I got my Masters Degree in Educational Technology. I became
a Disney Travel Planner. I completed a 10K – and a half marathon! Yet there are many
things I’m proud of that didn’t necessarily occur in 2011 – like marrying my best
friend. I love B Lee!
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
Although there are a lot of random facts about me, I do have some pretty crazy
fears. Like bugs. I make B Lee kill any bug in the house (especially spiders) – even
if they are little. I’m also afraid of flying – I freak out every time. I have a
fear of any little hue of pink in any type of cooked meat. But my craziest fear? Of
puke. We’ll just leave it at that.
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
You can do anything you set your mind to! If you had asked me 2 years ago if I would
run a half marathon – I would have laughed. And this year – I did just that! (And
have MANY more on the horizon!) All it takes is some hard work and dedication – and
you can do anything you want! Start small, take things slow – but do it for YOU!

Great interview! Super inspirational. I hate bugs too! Love the start small. It really is about incorporating small changes for big impact!
