I met Coco on Twitter and she’s this week’s Fitspo Feature!
See how she changed her life.
Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
I didn’t understand healthy living until about 10 years ago. Although I played sports as a child and took the occasional aerobics as an adult, I didn’t really understand the importance of regularly exercise or healthy eating. When I graduated from law school I was 40 lbs overweight and on the verge of having high blood pressure. That finally motivated me to lose weight, which I managed to do without exercising. I finally got on the exercise bandwagon when I realized that I needed to build muscle and burn calories to keep the weight off. I’ve been at my goal weight for over 10 years now, and really enjoy healthy nutritious food and lots of different types of exercise.
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
I really enjoy how I feel when I am eating right and being active. I have more energy and a more positive outlook.
Q: What is your favorite workout?
Running, especially speed intervals–I love those endorphins.
Q: What are some of your goals?
To stay fit and active through my 40s and into my 50s and beyond! Next year I already have two Half Marathons on my calendar.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
I am proud that I have been able to adopt a healthy lifestyle and make it stick despite having a demanding, stressful and sedentary job.
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
My husband is my high school sweetheart. ๐
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
Run your own race — which means set your own goals and make your own plan to reach them, without comparing yourself to others or what you think you “should” do.
