Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
No. I started my long distance running journey at 48 years old.
My first-ever long distance race was a Half Marathon in 2010. I was slim/slender, but I was far from healthy.
Q: What keeps you going, motivated? The challenge to see how I can improve myself. Of course, I love to race, so the rewards at the end of the race are great too (Finisher Medals, Overall& Age Division Awards)
Q: What is your favorite workout?
Running. All my workouts revolve around running.
Q: What are some of your goals?
I just achieved a big one at the LA Marathon. I wanted to run my first Full Marathon. Which I did, at the age of 50. My other goals would be to qualify for the Boston and NYC Marathon by the time I am 55 years old.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
USATF 2011 Gold Phidippides Award Winner and I am consistently one of the top winners in my races. But, just being able to run and have a healthy body/mind is my biggest
accomplishment.
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
I am fluent in American Sign Language
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
Find your workout bliss. Don’t compare yourself to others. Where you are today in your fitness achievements is exactly where you need to be. Tomorrow will be different, so relish every step of your adventure. You cannot lose 100 lbs without first losing 10 lbs.
