I just received this awesome Ozeri 4×3 Razor Digital Pedometer by Ozeri to try out.
The review and your chance to win one will be coming next week, so make sure to come back here to enter when it’s up!
Meanwhile, I just a few minutes ago got it set and going!
So, let’s see how much walking I do today.
I don’t think I walk enough especially now that I’m working at home again.
I really need to make time and get walking, break up my time at my desk and walk!
You don’t need a sign to Walk…
just go do it!
You don’t need fancy equipment (a good pair of walking shoes is good, or barefoot if you’re walking where you don’t have risk of stepping on things that could cut up your feet!).
If you have problems with foot pain, you may want to try Kendall GelThotics that go in your shoes and feel ohhhh so good! (and if you read this before 10/18/11 you can enter to win a pair yourself!)
It’s free, you don’t have to have any experience or training…
just go and put one foot in front of the other! Another great way to treat pain is to get an appointment with this massage therapy for pain management.
Benefits of Walking
Some of the benefits of exercise are as follows:
Increased Energy
Increased Metabolism
Improved Muscle Tone
Better Health
Stress Reduction
Improved Self-Esteem
Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke
Lower blood pressure
Reduce high cholesterol and improve blood lipid profile
Reduce body fat
Enhance mental well-being
Increase bone density, helping to prevent osteoporosis
Reduce the risk of non insulin dependent diabetes
Help to control body weight
Help osteoarthritis
Help flexibility and co-ordination
Not sure I believe the walking burns more fat than jogging point though.
Be committed to walking, and take the pledge to walk!
Every Body Walk! is aimed at getting Americans up and moving: a walking hub, with health information, walking maps and how to find walking groups.
If you’d like a free walking log to write down and track your progress, you can download one free here. It has 6 months of logs (you can print as many as you need) that include a place for date, time, mileage, thoughts, etc.
