Hmmm I had no clue!
until I went to Super Target in Davie and at checkout, the cashier put everything in this big reusable bag!
I jokingly told my bestest friend Julie, that since I am easily entertained that I’d go home and blog about it
so….here I am!
After searching, I did find it mentioned on their site:
Earth Day exclusive: On April 17, 2011, we’ll be giving
away free reusable bags in stores (with purchase) to our
first one million guests. Limit one per guest. Last year,
most stores ran out within a few hours. So get yours while
supplies last.
When you use a Target reusable bag ten times, you’ll
keep 25 plastic bags out of landfills.
So, since I didn’t know anything about it prior to going it was a nice surprise for me!
It’s much bigger than my other reusable bags I have from there (and other places)
Plus it has a cinch top, so you can actually use the drawstring and ‘close’ it so everything doesn’t come falling out!
(I did mention I was easily entertained, right?!)
Sadly though of course it’s made in China
but supposedly you save $.05 every time you use a reusable bag
(hmmmmm have I been saving each time I’ve used all mine? dunno?!)
The bag itself is recyclable if you bring it back to Target when it’s beyond use.
Not real thrilled with the companies that made this bag ‘possible’ either
Tom’s of Maine which is owned by Clorox
which also owns GreenWorks who’s one of the companies listed as well
Tide — I’ll stick to Seventh Generation–now why weren’t they one of the companies that could’ve helped make this bag possible?
Coca-Cola –I’ll pass on soda–ewwww
and GE–ok with them
Which now in thinking about it, why aren’t more eco-friendly companies the ones who help make the items ‘possible’?
rather than companies that are known for green-washing?
Oh well, can’t solve all the problems of the world in one day.
So, I’ll be grateful for the free big bag I got as a surprise today and end it on that note 🙂
