Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
I’ve always tried to live a healthy lifestyle, but at first I had a very distorted vision of what healthy meant. I spent a few years restricting my intake of foods, especially those high in fat or sugar. It got to the point of being almost obsessive. However, when I really started to get into fitness and started my degree in nutrition, I began to understand what it really meant to be healthy. Now I include a variety of foods and feel stronger and more healthy than ever!
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
I teach fitness classes and I know that I need to be a positive role model to my patrons. Staying in shape and trying to live the healthiest lifestyle to better motivate them is what keeps me going each day.
Q: What is your favorite workout?
It actually depends on the day. Most of the time I love running. However, a really good yoga class or cycling class helps me reboot.
Q: What are some of your goals?
I’m currently studying to become a Lifestyle and Weight Management Coach through ACE and then going on to do my dietetic internship which will lead me to becoming a registered dietitian. My biggest goal currently is to start a nutrition and fitness consulting/coaching business in the near future.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
My bachelor’s is the thing that I’m most proud of. Since I was real little, I always wanted to attend Penn State. My father is an Alumni, so following in his footsteps was a big thing for me. I’m daddy’s little girl!
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
I’m a bit klutzy and probable a little goofy! So it is kind of ironic that I teach fitness classes.
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
Be yourself! If you’re trying to lead a healthy lifestyle, figure out what works best for you. Don’t become vegan because that’s what your friend does. Don’t force yourself into Crossfit if you don’t like it. The best workout is the one that you will do!
