Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
For the most part, I’ve always been a very active person. I played sports in high school and ran races, but never had a consistent workout routine until I started going to Dailey Method a few years ago. It appealed to my dance background and put me in a tip-top shape so I was able to do the other things I used to enjoy doing like rock climbing, distance running and skiing. Now I try to work out twice a day, five times a week. My diet is still something I struggle with. I have real discipline issues when it comes to the food I love. I’ve been able to find ways to substitute a lot of sugar and salt out of my meals and just try to eat a balanced diet without depriving myself of anything too delicious ๐
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
I’m a pretty competitive person and have a lot of energy. I like to be constantly improving on myself, whether that be physically or mentally. Personal growth is very important to me and gives me that added motivation to put in that extra rep or hold that pose just a second longer.
Q: What is your favorite workout?
I totally hopped on the TRX bandwagon about a year ago and never turned back. It’s a great total body workout and I just feel really strong after I’m finished with a kick butt class.
Q: What are some of your goals?
I want to do a triathalon this year or next. I can swim but have a fear of deep open water so I want to conquer that and add it to my list of accomplishments.
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
Not related to fitness, but passing the California Bar Exam is way up there. So is the philanthropy work I do in my community. Finishing Tough Mudder is a huge personal accomplishment of mine. It was tough!
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
I am a total sports fanatic! I know more about the NFL than most of my guy friends and my personal fitness journey actually started with my love of playing sports.
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
Make time. I’m one of the busiest people I know between juggling my demanding job and philanthropy work and I’ve learned that if you want to take time to work out, you have to make the time. If it’s a priority for you, whether it’s exercising or something else, you will find a way to make room in your schedule and your life for it. We all prioritize whether we realize it or not.
