This week’s Fitspo Feature is:
Madeline Glasser
Q: Have you always lived a healthy fit lifestyle?
A: I can honestly say that I have always led a healthy, active life. My mom set an example early on by taking me on her long-runs on the weekend. She would run 6-8 miles … I would bike next to her. I also played competitive tennis for 14 years growing up as well as basketball, volleyball, and danced. I got into running and yoga during college and have never looked back.
Q: What keeps you going, motivated?
A: I am pretty self-motivated when it comes to working out. I love how it makes me feel and that is what gets me to lace up my sneakers every morning. I would have to say that my 6-month old daughter also motivates me. I want to set a good example for her!
Q: What is your favorite workout?
A: That’s a hard one! I LOVE running but CrossFit is a new passion of mine. Yoga will always hold a special place in my heart too.
Q: What are some of your goals?
A: My current goal is to PR in my upcoming half marathon. I set a goal to run one 6 months postpartum and I am so excited that I am 2 weeks away from accomplishing that goal!
Q: What are some of your accomplishments or things you’re proud of?
A: My greatest accomplishment will always be my family. Emmalyne is by far the greatest thing I have ever done. Fitness wise though, the sense of pride I felt crossing the finish-line at my first half marathon is unparalleled. I had never run more than 3 miles in my life when I started training and honestly didn’t know if I could do it or not. Finishing was amazing and I cried.
Q: What is one random fact we should know about you?
A: Apparently the fact I am only 24 has surprised some of my readers haha. But a real random fact would be that I HATE textures. I will never eat cottage cheese, oysters, or chia seeds in their gel form because I simply can’t handle it.
Q: What words of advice would you like to leave the readers?
A: Follow your heart. Don’t do an activity just because you think you should. Find one that moves you mentally and physically. A passion for what you do is the greatest motivator to keep you doing it.
