If you ever travel to Charleston, SC you should really spend an hour and take the guided tour of the historical city. We’ve gone a couple times now and each time we use the
Old South Carriage Co. The guides are friendly and usually you walk away laughing and having learned more about the city than you knew before.
While I’m not big on making horses lug people around, the tour is awesome. They have different routes that cover approximately 2.5 miles and 30 blocks of historical Charleston.
Here’s Colby, he was our horse of preference and on our last trip we waited just for him! What can I say, what my daughter wants, my daughter gets. And she loves Colby. Hopefully he’ll be there on our next trip to Charleston, whenever that may be.
and as we know, when you gotta go, you gotta go and that includes horses!
So, while you visit Charleston if you happen to see little things in the street with flags on them, do NOT pick those up! The drivers of the carriages throw those out on the street when the horses do their business so they can send someone to clean up! So, they’re not toys or souvenirs!

Hey Tara,
I personally love touring especially when a part of a tour is riding a horse. It’s romantic and exciting….
Anyway, for a worthwhile vacation, having a well planned trip and a little idea about the place you are going to are essentials. Don’t you think so?
I also wanted to share something interesting to you Tara. It is a webcam placed on top of Calhoun Mansion which gives internet visitors a live video view of its historical landmarks or just beautiful sights in Charleston.
You can check this webcam at this link, http://www.charlestonscrealestate.us . I really hope you will like it.
