I received a bottle of Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla to review and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I love vanilla.
Real pure vanilla that is…
The world’s finest and most consistent vanilla comes from Madagascar. Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla from Nielsen-Massey has a creamy, sweet, velvety flavor that is perfectly suited for a range of products from baked goods to ice creams, salad dressings to barbeque sauces. Madagascar Bourbon vanilla does not have anything to do with the American whiskey of the same name, but is rather named for the Bourbon Islands off the coast of Africa. Madagascar supplies more than 60% of the world’s vanilla.
About Nielsen-Massey
Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. The finest pure vanilla in the world!
How do we stake such a claim? It starts with a family dedicated to pure vanilla products since 1907. Add the finest vanilla beans available – hand-picked for perfection, and the process has begun. Next, an exclusive cold extraction process slowly and gently draws the delicate and distinctive flavor from the vanilla beans. The result is the finest pure vanilla in the world — perfect for the home cook or the discriminating chef.

You’ve got to see some of the fun facts about vanilla…
A few drops of vanilla in a can of paint will help eliminate unpleasant odors!
I used mine in the Thanksgiving chocolate chip pecan pie.
Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
3 eggs
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup pecan halves
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 Tablespoon vanilla (I used Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla-of course!)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Beat eggs, sugar, salt, butter, vanilla and corn syrup with hand beater.
Stir in pecans and chocolate chips.
Pour mixture into pie shell.
Bake until set, approx. 40 to 50 minutes.
Cool then enjoy!
I’m also contemplating making some cupcakes with it and buttercream icing as well because the richness of the Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla is ideal for those.
Of course, I just like sniffing it from the bottle too! lol
