One of my best friends and I were emailing over the weekend because I was in major contemplative mode and we were talking about big goals…
One of which I’ve had for years, and remains out of reach…
seeming insurmountable, unattainable, impossible.
WHY?
Honestly, I don’t know…
Well, rephrase…yes I do.
Or at least I do…now
I must not want it badly enough.
OUCH!
The truth hurts.
But like Laurie said, “Look at what we get accomplished, websites built overnight, businesses erected in 48 hours….so we are capable of accomplishing things.”
Which is true, I’ve known Laurie for decade+ and she’s seen me start businesses on a whim and get them up, going, succeeding and sold at profit years later.
She’s seen all kinds of things get done and she herself has a boatload of accomplishments!
And, she is so right with the so we are capable of accomplishing things comment…
but, I have to want it badly enough.
While it seems impossible (since I have a hard enough time covering monthly expenses as is)…how on earth do I think I would be able to get ohhhh somewhere in the ballpark of $4million for this project..the ultimate goal…
I have other smaller goals as well that I haven’t been focusing on either, which means I need to make sure I really want to achieve them and do what I’ve gotta do to get meet the goals.
Your impossible goal could be to lose 50 pounds, run a half marathon, start a new business, build a house, find the right man & settle down…
You’ll have to want it badly enough to make it happen though.
You won’t lose weight if you sit around eating and not exercising…
You won’t run that half marathon if you never lace up your shoes…
You can’t start a new business sitting around waiting for everything to be perfect…
You can’t break ground on building a new home if you don’t visit our review site about debt settlement to get the finances (or financing) needed…
You won’t find the right partner if you never allow yourself to be approachable…
How important are the end results of your goals to you?
Important enough to do whatever it takes to accomplish them?
How badly do you want it?
If you only want it a little, you’ll put in a little effort and get a little in return.
Put forth all your energy and you’ll see larger results!
You just have to want it badly enough (speaking to myself here as well!)
Question of the day
What do you want?
How badly do you want it?
Are you willing to put forth the effort?

Ive been mulling this too.
Mine has NADA to do with fitness—but Im challenging myself and asking DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS—OR IS IT MERELY LIPSERVICE?

Me too Miz ๐

Reminds me of story of two old guys sitting on their porch. One looks at an old dog lying on a stake that is protruding from the ground and asks the dog’s owner how come the dog doesn’t move off that stake. Owner calmly states, “Don’t hurt bad ’nuff”. I think unless we have enough pain/motivation to cause us to move in a direction we won’t. I wanted to lose weight for a long time but it wasn’t until I saw the scale getting terribly close to an ugly, ugly number (the pain) that I finally was motivated ENOUGH to move.

I want to start my own running coaching / pre/post-natal exercise training company…that’s actually the first time I’ve ever written in out for the world to see!
I am willing to put the effort in…but what’s holding me back is my worry/fear that I’m not good enough / I’m not going to be taken seriously / it’s not going to do well…
My husband gets annoyed with me b/c he tells me that I’ll never know unless I try…
Your post just reiterated what he has told me!
Thanks for the awesome post =)
