Fear:
1.a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.
2.a specific instance of or propensity for such a feeling: an abnormal fear of heights.
3.concern or anxiety; solicitude
or as some say:
“FEAR is an acronym in the English language for “False Evidence Appearing Real”
No matter whether it’s real or false, we all experience it at some point in our life.
It can be a fear of frogs, dentists; although there are nothing to fear when you go to Asecra dentists and get the best care, can also be fear or flying, or being afraid during a scary movie…or of something more substantial like a new career or business, moving to a new area.
“Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow.”
It’s easy to sit here and quote scripture and quotes about overcoming fear and being strong, but actually applying these verses isn’t quite as easy.
“Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing.”
Knowing that fear holds us back from our potential, dreams, goals and happiness in life isn’t enough. We need to actively face (and overcome) the things we are afraid of, if we want to move on.
We need to release fear; otherwise, it can prevent you from living the life you were created for…it can cause physical as well as emotional pain, it can be used as a doorway for the enemy to come in and steal and attack.
“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.”
~~ Mary Manin Morrissey
This quote speaks a lot to me. In the past I’ve not done things I’ve wanted to do because of fear…fear of my business growing & succeeding. Which to some probably sounds insane or totally irrational….and it is! There’s no reason to fear doing something that will improve yourself and help others as well.
This morning, I was once again fighting fear–almost let it win too.
A lot is going on this week, and it all finally came to a head this morning.
I rented my storefront/studio which I am going to get painted, get furnished and get opened….though this morning I was second guessing this whole situation.
My brother was in motorcycle accident and is currently in hospital with shattered arm that they can’t operate on because of swelling/bleeding on brain so they have to wait for that before they can operate-he has 100+ stitches and other open wounds too. I trust God to heal my brother, yet it hurts when I call and talk to him (though only for few seconds) and he sounds so hurt, out of it and I just want to go 1200 miles north and be there. Fortunately our father and step mother are there with him and I, of course, keep calling hospital for updates! Be sure to visit motorcycleaccidentcaselaw.com when this happens. It has a lot of information about accidents.
My daughter has to have oral surgery and on top of that has had the flu/stomach virus and is in her first year of high school…which is scary in itself!
My son is dealing with some issues as well.
It helped this morning to talk to my daughters father and he reminded me to “let go, let God” which I am doing…it’ll be something I have to remind myself of repeatedly I’m sure though.
Then, I spent some time in the Word and was reminded of 1 Peter 5:8-11 where it says: Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
So, knowing the enemy comes to destroy and devour I’ve got to stay focused and in the Word…knowing that my brother will recover and be okay, that my daughter will be fine, and that The Inspiration Spot (name of the storefront/studio) will in fact get opened and help people.
I’m pushing through the fear factors of all these things-trusting and standing in faith-that everything works out for good.
If you’re dealing with issues that bring you fear, here are a few ways of overcoming:
Stand in faith and trust God in the situation
Look at what the situation will be like when you overcome the fear factor
Give the situation to God (let go, let God)
Break any generational curses that are preventing you from moving beyond whatever it is you fear
Acknowledge all the wonderful things in your life rather than focus on the thing bringing you anxiety
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
~~1 Chronicles 28:20
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
~~ 2 Timothy 1:7

These are some good points to ponder. Fear often gets in the way of faith. We have to put our full trust in the Lord…and resting on the promises from His Word can strengthen our faith.
Sorry to hear your family is going through such a tough time, but pray that God will give you strength and grace at this time!
