I’m kinda pissed irritated right now.
And, perhaps I shouldn’t be or maybe I should be?
I dunno
But, with more and more people judging others, pushing others and having the attitude that they’re somehow better than others based on things, or even how fast they can run or how much they can lift, it’s just irritating.
On occasion I’ll post picture of my sweaty hand w/calories/heart monitor and comment on workout and how many calories I burned during it.
I just do it…maybe to keep myself accountable…to try to exceed my prior pic..who knows.
What I don’t do it for is to have people attack me via DM or email about what they think I should do!
Last nights bike ride was just a leisurely bike ride (remember my bike is indoor so not like I’m out racing on the streets-I would if I had a bike but mine got stolen so until some bike company wants to give me one to review, promote I’m stuck inside).
It wasn’t a push as hard as I could go bike ride, it was just hop on, watch a show, read a few magazines, tweet from ipad and enjoy the cool breeze coming in from the balcony–a welcome change from the 2+ weeks of rain.
I can ride hard and fast or leisurely, I can lift weights, I can run, I can do HIIT (high intensity interval training), I can do tabata training.
Just because I can do those, doesn’t mean I have to every time I’m doing something active.
I’m not good at just sitting and doing nothing, thus if I’m watching a show or catching up on reading my magazines, most times it’s going to be while I’m on my bike.
So, please no nasty condescending emails telling me that I have to pick it up or push harder, do HIIT, do this, do that.
Thank you..no.
I have my hard workouts and runs.
And, I have my kicked back bike ride while watching tv time as well.
And, ya know what I’m good with that.
The only time anyone should be telling someone what to do is if they paid them for coaching services.
Then fine, that’s what they paid for…for you (or me) to tell them what they should be doing.
Otherwise, you have no clue what my goals or intentions are so enough with the lame emails and direct messages.
Now, asking Hey, have you ever tried HIIT or something similar would be acceptable but saying You need to do HIIT instead of a lightweight bike ride is NOT acceptable.
Earlier this week I posted that I was glad to be me and included a goal/dream of mine.
My goals are mine…
I’m sure some and probably possibly my dad don’t get them but at least after all these years he accepts them (least I think he does, at least he still talks to me unlike other family members).
And, who knows right now my goal is simple…
enjoy my daughter, enjoy life and get to point where I can travel, enjoy everything.
Plain and simple…
So, my point is this..
do what you do..for YOU!
Question of the day
Do you try to inflict your goals/expectations on others?
Have you had it happen to you?
Do you always workout/run/train hard or do you get active for fun as well?

Tara, I just came across your website researching if Shakeology had potassium. Thank you for posting your “PROPRIETARY SUPER-FRUIT BLEND” post back in the day. It helped. I quoted you so I didn’t plagiarize. 🙂 But about your post here.. I agree with you 100%! Your exercise time, relax time, family time – whatever time is for you. We have the privilege of reading your posts, and the information you share with us is for our motivation, inspiration etc., #1 and #2 for your accountability and helps you as a coach let your Team know you are consistent with being active. Not everyone is on the same program or Routine.
I think I have been in the losers seat before where I have had to bite my tongue. I have learned my lesson it doesn’t not help telling people what they NEED to do. I learned that in the Military being a first time Supervisor. Lead by example. Setting Goals and helping others achieve their goals is only Leading by example. Using the word “Need” in a Leadership position is your first mistake.
Yes I have Kids.. 4 girls.. we play a lot.. I love to go out to the Beach in the Summer.. swim swim swim… play soccer, run around. We Ice Skate now. For US.. Not just P90X and Insanity or Turbo Fire every day.. Do it for YOU! Others will only find themselves lost telling others what they need and not focusing on themselves.

Thanks Vicki and Thanks Jenna…
yea every time I do something active doesn’t mean that I’m out on a mission or anything and today this person was just relentless with their email demanding I do something else for my workout!?
Enjoy your weekend!
