This is going to be a low-key rant, vent.
I’m dumbfounded by how many people don’t understand that they need to strike when the iron is hot as well as plan marketing, promotions prior to when they actually need the business, you can do this with san diego inbound marketing who are specialized in this kind of promotions.
Are you letting others pass you by because they’re promoting, marketing, Tweeting, updating and you’re here pedaling trying to keep up?
Example 1: Josie wants to get the word out about her business. The holidays are here and her product is perfect for gift giving. But, Josie doesn’t want to spend any money to hire someone to promote for her. Her response – “I’ll wait until after the holidays and consider doing something then”
Response Why wait? I’ve checked on her and her business is not at the level she would like it to be…even with it being the holidays.
Nobody knows about her or what she’s selling.
She should’ve gone ahead and invested some coinage and gotten promoted prior to and during the holiday season.
This way she’d have orders now as well as getting her name out there and seen for the typical after the holiday slump that many businesses, direct sales & home party people experience.
She thinks though that after the New Year she’ll be able to have someone promote for her and that will lead to instant business.
That’s not how it works!
It takes consistency and repeated exposure before people remember you, your business, what you sell and gives them time to get to know you and trust you!
Josie should’ve been promoting her business this whole time…rather than waiting.
Example 2: A company who has a product they want to be seen wants to promote it across the board. They have something like 10 followers on Twitter and not many more likes on Facebook. They haven’t updated either of those in over a month! Yet, they wonder why nobody knows about their product. They really need to promote but they’re going to wait until they have more sales and higher revenue before investing a minimal amount to have someone promote them. They don’t have the time (or desire) to update on Social Media nor do they want to.
Response: How does it make sense to wait to promote until you have made more sales if you’re not making sales without promoting?
How are you going to increase sales?
If they would promote 50 payday loan lender, they’d make more sales, increase their revenue and get their name out there.
Whatever small financial investment they would make for someone to do the promoting and marketing would easily be recouped by the additional sales that would be generated from the promoting her latest blog on loans and lending.
I know that we’ve all noticed that retail stores promote holidays months in advance.
Evident by Christmas stuff being on the shelves before Halloween this year!
Valentine’s Day stuff is already starting to trickle into stores and it’s only December 12th!
But, they know that they have to promote prior to the day needed.
So, while it may upset some that we don’t get through one holiday before stores are pushing another on us they’re doing what makes business sense.
Are you?
Or are you waiting until the day you need extra business to promote?
If so, you’ve waited too long.

Yes, that’s my Social Media Managing and Promoting business!
It’s disheartening to see so many good companies not have a presence in Social Media.
Others sadly don’t grasp the importance of marketing and promoting.
So, quit sitting around letting others pass you by and market! promote your business! communicate with people & build relationships in Social Media (be it you yourself or you pay someone to do it…just do it!)

Amen, Amen and Amen. I’ve let my team know prior to Thanksgiving that if they aren’t already putting their January plans in place, they better hop to it as January is too late to plan for January. People never cease to amaze me.

Thanks Laurie and yep January is too late to think about January!
I’m with you on the “people never cease to amaze me” aspect.
