Hmmmm the day after Christmas, an early visit to my local Tire Kingdom Store #56 and yes I’ll tell you which one it is so you can avoid going there!

I figured I’d go use the coupon I had, get a quick oil change before hitting the road again today…

A sales person, at Tire Kingdom then tells me I have two balding front tires…
balding on outside
not safe and refuses to rotate them to back and rear tires to front
I question it since I’ve always been taught, best tires in front.
He claims that that’s not the case anymore, quotes some nonsense lines about studies, blah blah blah
I call daughters father (yes, sadly I bothered him at 7 a.m…sorry Larry!) to confirm this because it’s against what I knew.
He agrees, it makes no sense.
So, I have them just do the oil change and will deal with the tires at later date.
But, while sitting and thinking and letting things settle it still made no sense.
I then find this tweet from Tire Kingdom on my twitter feed
To which I tweeted back the following tweets…which ironically (or not) they were quick to tweet and initiate conversation to begin with, yet now that I have issues/complaints nobody’s tweeting back from there!
I even tried to call their customer service line…to be told that it’d take 2-3 business days for upper management to respond.
Ummmm really?!
So then I went back to car to get receipts from today and from when I got the tires a mere 18 months ago.
Lo and behold!
I purchased 4 new tires on 6/29/10
70,000 mile tires at that
with life time wheel rotation
AND 3 year wheel alignment program!

where you can see he recommends FOUR tire replacements AND wheel alignment
Yet, I have 3 yr wheel alignment program sooooooooooooooooooooo why wasn’t wheel alignment done?
hmmm couldn’t tell ya?!
Oh I know, he was more concerned with trying to sell me new tires!
And, he said that Scions always have bad alignment
Why wasn’t tire rotation done?

Note the 70,000 mile tires have 22,732 miles on them

That’s A LOT less than the 70,000!

And, notice they couldn’t even reset the maintenance required light AND they did manage to put my speedometer into kilometers per hour instead of miles per hour which means they tried to reset the maintenance light…which is sad and pathetic seeing how the instructions are in the owners manual which is in the glove box.
So, now I’m even more annoyed!
I call the customer service line back and give all the information to Adrian (at least he was polite) and got my incident number and was told upper management usually takes 3-5 business days to respond!
WOW really? I guess they have that many complaints!?!!!
Because as the morning progresses I’m finding more and more who aren’t happy with Tire Kingdom, yet check out their line from their site

This should be interesting to see how long it really takes someone to phone me, someone to respond on Twitter…

Back tire which is ok but yet I’m pretty sure I cannot get another 47,268 miles on the back tires to meet the 70,000 mile tire factor!

The shirt I wore this morning says peace on it, not take advantage of me because I’m female, not lie to me because I’m too dumb to figure it out, not screw me over, not sell me something I shouldn’t need.
So, any one want to bet on how long it takes someone from Tire Kingdom to respond?

But seriously, everything about this is whacked!
Now, we both know I’ll gladly praise a company/biz/people on Social media and here if they do right but this is wrong on so many levels!

We don’t have tire kingdoms in Utah, but I feel the exact same way about Firestone, about 2 years ago I bought 4 new tires from them, went back 3 months later to rotate the tires and they said I wasn’t covered for free tire rotations because I had to come back every 90 days, I was there on the 90th day but according to them my warranty “expired” because I waited until the 90th.day. No where on their paperwork or receipt did it say to come back with 90 days or lose warranty, it said to come in every 90 days for free tire rotations, called corporate, got the same run around, never got called back, tell everyone I know NOT to give Firestone business

Tara … Apparently Tire Kingdom feels that miss aligning your car to sell you tires is the way to generate business … I to have been fighting with them since August over (at the time $150) … I decided that the squeaky wheel gets the grease … so I started squeaking yesterday and already got a call back today … not that they are ready to resolve the issue yet, especially since i told them I want $500.00 know despite I’m really only out $378.00.
