Okay yesterday my cell phone finally decided to die with no way to repair it.
I knew it’s day was coming, had hoped to prolong it though.
I dealt with having no phone on Sunday and part of today before giving in and heading off to TMobile.
Well I get there this morning and some nastyattitudey girl was working there.
She lacked any form of personality, was just yuck to deal with.
When I explained what was wrong with the phone her response was:
“you can get a free one in November”
My response was: “Ummm as much as I do not want to buy a phone, somehow I don’t think 8 months without a phone is going to cut it, is there any way to repair it?”
Her: “don’t know, you need to just buy a new one. The Gravity is $135 for you.”
at that point I asked: “What time will Greg be in?”
Her: with loud sigh proceeding “noon”
Me: “Okay then I’ll be back when he’s here”
and I left….
Sorry to say well actually not sorry, but I refuse to give nasty people my money.
So, I went back after noon and saw Greg.
He kindly explained what was wrong with my ancient phone and that it was beyond repair but they were accepting phones to recycle since Cell Phone Recycling Week is coming up in April.
Hey, that works for me!
Then he told me it’d be $135 to upgrade to the Samsung Gravity. And, no I did not want a Blackberry or even the G1 that I formerly wanted. Just give me an easy good phone w/a full keyboard and I’m good to go!
So, of course I went with the grey and green one!
While he was doing the paperwork he said that I was eligible to get it and pay in 4 payments at no interest!
COOLNESS…works for me!
(note: Ms Rude Attitude this morning didn’t mention any of that! She just said to wait til Nov to get it free or pay the $135)
He saved all my stuff to my SIM card and got me all set with the new phone.
And out the door I went happily having dealt with someone who’s always polite, friendly, knows what he’s doing and worked a good deal for me, plus saved all my music, contacts, images, etc. for me.
So, note to those who work on commission (they do at TMobile), next time you deal with someone perhaps you should be a bit friendlier, try to acknowledge and/or rectify their problem/situation, and offer them what you can…that is if you want to get the sale.
If not, well then guess they’ll leave like I do and wait til someone nice is working and give that person their business!
and to Greg at TMobile in Pembroke Pines on Pines & Douglas…thanks!
