Whether you’re trying to avoid a heart attack or if you’re recovering from a heart attack, here are some foods that you’ll want to avoid.
~ Processed meat and pork products.
~ Foods with saturated fats. The American Heart Association outlines that you should minimize your saturated fat to 7g or less per day.
~ Foods with hydrogenated oils.
~ Foods with trans fat. Trans fat raises your “bad” (LDL) cholesterol and lowers your “good” (HDL) cholesterol.
~ Artificial sweeteners. Aspartame (Equal & Nutrasweet), saccharine (Sweet ‘N Low), and sucralose (which is a new way to hide the fact that it’s really Splenda) are chemicals that are several hundred times sweeter than sugar and may as well be poison.
~ White sugar.
~ Soda/Pop. Pop/Soda is nothing more than liquefied sugar and chemicals. And, don’t get swayed by the “diet” drinks which are loaded with the above mentioned artificial sweeteners which do more damage to you than regular sugar.
~ Corn syrup.
~ Artificial flavors and colors.
~ Fried foods.
~ Salt if you have high blood pressure.
