As I type this, my head is pounding and my stomach is churning…
not fun!
Earlier I had a mad craving…
I’ll go ahead and blame it on my period–less condemnation on myself much easier than admitting I have no clue why I had this craving.
I swear my body was crying out for Mt Dew.
Why though?
It’s been ions since I’ve had a soda, and yet here I was tonight craving one.
I fought it off for few hours, then finally figured it’d be easier best, if I went ahead and got it out of my system so I wouldn’t try to satisfy the beast the craving by eating/drinking other things to no avail.
So, ran to Walgreen’s right down the road and how does this make sense?
A 2 liter bottle is $.99 and yet a 16 oz bottle is $1.05?
Naturally, being the frugal person I am, went ahead and got the 2 liter bottle.
Can we say mistake!
I drank one glass of it…
and now I’m suffering!
My head hurts, my stomach is churning and why? because I thought my body wanted it?!
Really Tara…your body wanted a glass of cold artificial flavorings, sugar, and caffeine?
I don’t think so!
Now, the ironic part is back few years ago I’d guzzle 6-8 cans of Mt Dew a day!
Loved Mt Dew, it was the drink of drinks! (along with Code Red when it came out)
Yes, I did know how bad it was for me then and now…
but yet still lived on it.
There goes the thought that people need to be educated so they make healthier choices, even the educated can make wrong choices!

hmmm interesting, in doing this blog I realized the ingredients have changed a bit over the years….
IF I wanted to look for any inkling of justification that Mt Dew was somehow remotely good for me, I could say it has OJ in it!
But wait, before you get too excited…Vit. C forms Benzene (which can cause cancer) when combined with Sodium Benzoate…hmmm not remotely healthy after all!
But, on a good note…it does not contain aspartame a/k/a sucralose in it…sticking with straight up HFCS (high fructose corn syrup)..yes I know…still not good for you!
So, as you can see there’s nothing good or healthy in Mt Dew and I seriously have no idea why I wanted it, why I drank it…
What I do know is, our bodies will revolt against us if we consume something that’s not good for it.
It’d appear that I’ll be suffering for this for awhile this evening.
And, since I don’t take meds I’ll have to wait for this caffeine, artificial flavoring induced migraine to go away on it’s own.
Lessons to be learned:
~~Really STOP and think about the consequences of consuming what you think your body is craving PRIOR to consuming it!
~~LEARN and do not repeat the same mistake (trust me, it’ll be a looooong time – if ever at all- I drink another soda).
~~Get back on track-don’t beat yourself up (your body is going to do that plenty!) – get over it, move on and eat/drink healthy from that point forward.
And to lighten things up a bit….I used to I love this song…could relate to it few years ago.
