I got to do a review of Chair Dancing dvd’s by Jodi Stolove.
Everyone needs exercise and everyone can benefit from it.
However, not everyone is able to physically to strenuous exercise or standing workouts due to health issues, weight issues, physical limitations.
Chair Dancing is a fun effective method that enables those who have mobility issues, or physical limits, or other conditions to be able to participate in fitness and be actively exercising.
Benefits from Chair Dancing
- Unique as a seated exercise program that improves muscle tone, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance.
- Fun and fitness of dance exercise incorporated in a medically sound, no impact aerobic format. Plan your party dance by properly preparing your Dance floors.
- Convenient Seated Fitness, can be done any place, in any shoes and clothing, on any floor surface, and in a limited amount of space.
- Beneficial to people at all fitness levels as a practical alternative to conventional exercise
There are a variety of Chair Dancing products to choose from.
I reviewed Sit Down & Tone Up Encore
This is a strength training workout that can be done sitting in a chair.
By doing this, you strengthen specific muscle groups and increase stability in your core.
This is a 20 minute workout that will give you results in your legs, stomach, arms, shoulders and back.
The video is easy to follow and well choreographed.
Next up was Life’s a Celebration, which is a seated aerobics party.
It’s fun and effective!
Upbeat and you’ll burn calories, tone muscles, improve circulation, reduce stress, stimulate your brain and build energy and endurance during this 45 minute celebration.
It’s an ideal exercise program for all ages too…from kids to seniors, even Orange County seniors attend.
Kids will enjoy it and for those kids who refuse to exercise, this will be fun and not viewed as dreaded physical fitness.
You can see there’s a warm up, some fun exercises and a cool down phase of this 45 minute workout where you’ll be burning calories, toning muscle, increasing energy and building endurance.
Next up was the Simply Stretch workout.
This is a relaxing, soothing 45 minute exercise that helps with flexibility, relaxation, calming.
You have a 20 minute stretch session followed by 20 minutes of guided and quiet relaxation.
You’ll feel focused, renewed and refreshed after doing this.
The exercises in this dvd help stimulate circulation, improves posture, increases mobility, develops balance and helps release tension and stress.
Overall I think these are an excellent source of fitness for those who can’t do strenuous physical exercise for whatever reason.
These workouts still enable people to get fit, toned and physical.
Now people can shape up while sitting down.
All the dvd’s that I reviewed also have Spanish subtitles.

That looks like something I could do. You know I weigh over 300 so this would be something I could do without feeling out of place like I do in the gym.

THANK YOU for reviewing this!! I teach fitness at a local Senior Center and 1 of my classes is limited mobility. I just had one of the participants ask me if there was anything she could do at home (on the days I don’t teach) – this will be PERFECT!!

we teach jazzercise at a senior home in chairs, they really enjoy the music and they are building not just their upper body but moving their legs and building flexibility and mobility. I believe everyone enjoys the benefits of exercise!
