Here’s a quick, easy, healthy side dish (or meal in my case-it was today’s lunch)
Broiled Mozzarella & Herb Tomato Recipe
Ingredients:
Tomato
Cheese of your choice
Herbs of your choice – I used organic thyme and oregano from Sage Hill Farms
Directions:
Slice the tomato into thick slices
Sprinkle with desired amount of cheese
Add desired amount of herbs
Then broil for approximately 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and brown.
Wasn’t that easy!?
and good too.
Now, I bet you want to know more about the organic herbs I used…right?
I’ve known Bea Kunz, of Sage Hill Farms for probably 5 or 6 years now and have been getting my herbs from her since we met.
Like their site says, “Gate-Keepers Bea and Mike Kunz are drawing from generations of family farming practices to build and maintain a Sustainable farm business.
Located at the foot of the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in the state of Tennessee, Sage Hill Farms is proud of and works to maintain a standard of clean and healthy product, not only for our own family, but for your family as well.”
Their motto is: “Our motto: Eat Well ~ Be Well”
I love the English Thyme from them.
I believe it’s my favorite of all.
While it’s strong, it’s not overpowering and blends exceptionally well with other herbs.
I also used the oregano on these tomatoes today.
This oregano is aromatic and full bodied.
Basil, and chives also adorn my herb cabinet as well.
I use all my herbs from Sage Hill Farms on a multitude of things…from tomatoes to chicken (my daughter loves a garlic thyme chicken I make), fish, in salad, rice, on bread, potatoes.
The options are as endless as your imagination.
I love the quality of the herbs and everything they stand for and their practices!
You can find Bea Kunz of Sage Hill Farms on Twitter @beakunz
Sage Hill Herb Farm has their own Facebook page for you to like
and you can order teas, herbs, seasonings or get recipes, and more on their main site
While on the main site, I’d suggest signing up for their free newsletter so you’ll be kept abreast of delicious healthy recipes, cooking tips, advice on gardening and sustainability, and natural health news.
