Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live. ~Jim Rohn
Jim Rohn couldn’t have said it better….
except for maybe in the Bible….
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,
1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT
You may not realize how important what you do and what you put in and on your body is.
Take my word for it, everything you do affects your body.
I’ve been at both realms.
I’ve been in shape, muscular, athletic, fit, strong and I’ve been obese and everywhere in between–
currently on way back to shapely, fit, strong…but I have my work cut out for me (more on that in a minute)
If you yo-yo between these two it has a huge effect on your body.
What you eat affects how your body performs, how your skin and hair are, how your vital organs function.
You may not realize that those extra 4 cupcakes you devoured will adversely affect you.
You may not think that a doughnut in the morning (every morning) will add it…it does.
Everything you put in your mouth will affect you.
In my adult years, I’ve weighed as little as 114 and as much as 199.
I’ve mentioned in recent posts that I did something stupid (gained 80 lbs–not going to mention the why right now).
The 114 weight was about 8 months after giving birth to my daughter (now 15) and the 199 was just recently (last year).
I will admit that I dealt with bulimia for a bit and did some other not so smart things in order to lose weight during earlier years.
However, this time around it’s being done the right way…
eating healthy (and a side note here, you can gain weight even eating healthy natural whole foods…if you binge, overeat, gorge yourself on them!) and controlling how much I eat,
working out, exercising-cardio and weights.
Now, the sad part of my weight gain is this…
I knew exactly what I was doing and why.
Knowing, that in time I’d lose it all and get back to a normal weight.
However, what I didn’t take into account was I’m much older now and it hasn’t been as easy to lose as I have in the past.
Not taking into consideration how my physical body would react and now there are parts of me that are going to take a lot of work to get to where they used to be (and better).
The even sadder part is I had the knowledge, I used to work as a trainer in a gym 20 years ago.
I’ve studied, I’ve read, I’ve done research on all these topics but yet I went ahead and did this to myself.
I could kick myself in the butt for not sticking with what I know all those years ago.
But, that’s why I’m here for others now…
helping them get in shape, lose weight, eat healthy
I can speak from first hand experience as well as the education and certifications I hold and am working on.
I’ve been there…
I’ve felt the emotions that an obese person has.
I’ve gone through and survived food issues, control issues and building walls and bringing walls down.
It can be done!.
And, I’m here to help you.
I want you to know how and apply that knowledge and do what has to be done in order to keep your body healthy and in shape so that it will last and provide you a vibrant home for you to live!
If you want additional information on how I can help you, email me.
If you don’t need my help, then please just remember to be kind to your body!…for yourself, your family, your friends, your loved ones.
