6 reasons you may not be losing weight
1) If you’re skipping breakfast…don’t! I used to skip breakfast all the time. But, it really is the most important meal of the day. Enjoy a wholesome decent size meal to get your day started. This doesn’t mean run through Dunkin Donuts or anything but rather eat a nutritious breakfast of whole grains, fruit, juice to ensure you get the energy you need for the morning and not over eat at other meals through the day.
2) Just because your friend lost weight following a specific diet, doesn’t mean you will. Each of us are individually made and have different physical traits and needs. Make this a lifestyle change and do what works for you.
3) You aren’t counting calories. You need to! You should be logging everything you eat and drink (yes, drinks contribute to a larger caloric intake than many believe).
When you write down everything you eat you become more aware of what and how much you are really consuming which helps identify any problem areas in your diet.
4) Even when you’re eating healthy, whole foods you still need to practice portion control.
Obviously this image is just a rough idea on how to judge portions.
The calorie content would vary depending on the food item but just use this as a rough idea (not written in stone since items vary depending on types … ie: nuts can vary depending on type of nuts so the same portion size can vary in calories)

5) You underestimate how many calories you eat while overestimating the number of calories you burn exercising. Try it the other way, underestimate how many calories you burn and overestimate how many you’re eating so you know you’ll actually expend more than you consume.
6) You watch what you eat Monday through Friday and blow it on weekends. You should eat healthy and in moderation every day. An occasional splurge or treat is ok but not an entire day or weekend worth.
Make sure you’re not doing these things and you should lose weight.
If you are doing some of them or all of them, make an effort to change.
