Is the glass half full? half empty? or overflowing?
Another viewpoint is, optimistic people might say the glass is too small or pessimistic people may see the glass is too big.
How do you see it?
According to Wikipedia, the saying “is the glass half empty or half full” is a common expression, used rhetorically to indicate that a particular situation could be a cause for optimism (half full) or pessimism (half empty); or as a general litmus test to simply determine if an individual is an optimist or a pessimist. The purpose of the question is to demonstrate that the situation may be seen in different ways depending on one’s point of view and that there may be opportunity in the situation as well as trouble.
I’ve finally gotten to the point where I view my cup as overflowing.
My cup overflows with blessings. ~~ Psalm 23:5
Now, mind you that isn’t happening right at this very moment (though I do have abundant blessings–we all do–in every day there’s some type of blessing and things to be grateful for!) but I’d like more (a house for one! even if it’s one to rent — with a pool) but I’m standing on Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”
While my cup may be overflowing if I look at the daily blessings, I’m still standing and believing for the other blessings that I’d like to obtain.
I’m on the path that leads to all the overflowing blessings and am restructuring my life and business(es) to ensure that not only will I have my cup running over, but that I’ll be a blessing to others.
How’s your view of your cup?
