No, I’m not referring to Jim Morrison’s Doors, though he did have a good quote:
“There are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors.”
I’m talking about the doors we encounter in life that sometimes S L O W L Y close, ones that SLAM shut on us, and those that are opened for or by us.
Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.
Coco Chanel
There comes a time, when we all need to stop and evaluate the situation. Perhaps you’re beating on a particular wall trying to make it into a door?
Think about the situation, mediate over it, pray over it, analyze it…do whatever it takes for you to determine if it’s a wall or a door that’s able to be opened.
The closing of a door can bring blessed privacy and comfort – the opening, terror. Conversely, the closing of a door can be a sad and final thing – the opening a wonderfully joyous moment.
Andy Rooney
Love this quote, because it simplifies how perspective comes into play regarding “good” and ‘bad” and open and closed doors.
It’s all about how you view it and what experience is gained by it.
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Luke 11:9
So, remember to look at walls and doors in a new light and grasp all you can from them whether closed, or opening…
It does all work out!
