Today’s day 14 of 31 Days of Gratitude
(stating the obvious here….my dad on left, my daughter in middle, Lynda on right-pic is 5 yrs old but really daughters the only one who’s changed(grown))
Today I’m grateful for my dad and step-mom.
Yes, yesterday I was grateful for my brother.
My dad and Lynda have had to deal with a lot with me over the years.
Those of you who know me, know that couldn’t have been easy during high school! lol
Then I took off, blew off college (stupid!), hitch-hiked to Florida and never grasped Algebra (though in my defense I still swear there’s no use for it in my life! but I do know what 9 x 7 is! (inside joke) LOL)
Since being in FL for the last 25 1/2 years they’ve still had to deal with me (from 1200 miles away-fortunate for them!)
I was surely a hand full and yet they still love me, still care about me.
We talk multiple times a week, email and Facebook (well Lynda anyhow).
We travel (not as often as we probably should or would like to) to meet up in Charleston SC or Asheville, NC or wherever…
(pic taken in Asheville, NC almost 4 yrs ago-and again daughters the only who’s changed (grown))
My parents accept (or at least tolerate-I think) the fact that I’m not the ideal child and have a different lifestyle than probably hoped for.
Now, mind you this has never been verbalized but c’mon it’s me we’re talking about….
And, I’m grateful for that…that they, through everything, are still there for me and deal with me!
Today I have two questions for you:
What are YOU grateful for today?
Are you grateful for your parent(s)?
