When you give your word do people know that you’ll follow through or does your word not mean anything?
Back in the day business was done with a handshake and your word because people had integrity.
Now those days are gone and even when many give their word they don’t keep it.
give your word equates to making a serious promise or an assurance.
People now toss that phrase around in the hopes that others will trust they follow through, but welcome to 2019 (almost 2020) where unfortunately to many its just a phrase and holds no value to them.
Apparently reputation, character and value are not important to those who give their word and just as easily break that by not doing what they said they’d do.
It’s easy for someone to say something but yet so difficult for some to actually follow through with the actions required to keep that word.
If you’re giving your word, there are no excuses for not keeping it (unless you die before you can fulfill your word – and I’m not even joking with that)
You MIGHT get away with not keeping your word with someone once, maybe twice but they (and others) will lose respect for you, won’t be able to believe anything you say, and eventually refrain from dealings with you.
It’s a very simple concept…
If you give your word…KEEP IT!
