Stupid move=not taking care of myself the way I know I should and drinking Christa’s left over drink knowing she was sick.
I’ve done this before and not gotten sick.
Not this time…
This time, I got it.
The watery eyes (which are a royal pain when you wear contacts), fever, cough, sore throat and have gone through countless boxes of tissues in the last 20 hours!
Lesson learned:
Take care of self better prior to drinking from sickie’s glass…or would that be don’t drink from her glass after her?
Regardless, the past month or so I haven’t taken care of myself the way I normally do…
eating foods I normally don’t eat, gaining few pounds – which I’m getting rid of (and then some), and getting less than my normal minimal amount of sleep.
Proving (at least to me) that all this does in fact have effect on immune system.
Now to kick this cold/flu’s butt!
Guzzling fresh Vitamin C, throw in some garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper and prayer for quick healing and I’ll be back to normal (whatever that is for me) in no time!
Though, I do need to go out get more tissues…hmmmmm would it be socially acceptable to be seen in public in my pj pants & tank top w/hoodie over it (did I mention I’m freezing in here).
If you happen to be out in the Pembroke Pines area and think you spot me dressed like that, just look the other way..it’s not me!
Meanwhile, here are a few tips on how you can build your immune system so this doesn’t happen to you!
(sidebar: this may be one of those do as I say, not as I do posts-just a heads up since I’m sure I still won’t sleep as much as the experts claim I need)
1. Get ample sleep (whatever that is, see aforementioned sidebar)
2. Eat plenty of veggies on a daily basis
3. Eat fresh fruits (not canned in sugary syrup!)
4. Reduce stress in your life
5. Exercise
6. Drink lots of water
7. Get outside, enjoy the fresh air daily
8. I may get bashed for this one, but don’t slather yourself with antibacterial cleansing soaps/gels/washes (I’ve never used them and this is first time I’ve gotten sick). I personally feel they do more damage than good..just use good ole’ soap and wash your hands, keep hands out of your mouth, away from your eyes. (sidebar: I am not a dr and am basing this on my own personal judgment of using chemical funk and killing off things that can actually help build antibodies-meanwhile if you DO insist on using one, try Pre-Fense
9. Reduce your intake of sugar. Sugar suppresses the immune system by paralyzing the white blood cells.
10. Eat a diet of mostly whole foods.
