I know it’s Wordless Wednesday but question of the day:
Are you unique?
Believe in individuality or do you try to fit in with the crowd and not stand out?

We are each individuals, unique beings…

We are all pieces of a huge puzzle.
I’ve spent the last few days discovering new things, meeting new people…
seeing that we all are connected and yet doing our own separate things.

I was thinking recently about how many parents want their children to act, and do things the other children do/did. To me, that doesn’t make a lot of sense. Each person (be it child or adult) is an individual, all unique…so why try to make others a carbon copy of another? (especially when different sexes-I mean boys and girls have different needs, personalities, etc.)

This simply shouldn’t be…of course the parent who does this only points out the good traits in the one they want the other to be like and doesn’t acknowledge there are any bad traits…ahhhh if only they’d see the entire picture.

Regardless, let kids and anyone for that matter, be themselves. God created us each in His image but He also created us for whatever purpose He has in mind, not whatever purpose someone else thinks we should have. You can and should, guide your children, give them direction, etc. but don’t try making them a carbon copy of another. Let them be their own individual and own personality.

Some people, for whatever reason, think if they have carbon copy of another child they’ll have a better relationship with said child and little do they realize ultimately they’ll push that child away or that child will in fact act like the others in some respects and perhaps not the ways expected. (Remember, the comment above…how some only see the good traits and not the bad, what if the child does the ones you don’t acknowledge-they’ll strum you along and play you like the other does and you won’t even grasp that. Sad.
