Oh man…I got goosebumps when I saw the title of this book! It’s exactly what I need because that’s exactly how much I have to lose (gulp). When I visited her site Fit to the Finish I read the article Why Bother Losing Weight Again? There was a whole paragraph that touched me and I’m still wiping tears from my eyes because it touched me on such a personal level:
Where are you today? Have you given up, or are you still trying to achieve your weight loss and fitness goals? I often think about those two years that I tried convincing myself that fat was fabulous, and failed. What if I hadn’t tried one more time? Where would I be today? It’s possible I would have ended up homebound like some of those poor morbidly obese people featured on Discovery Health. That could have been me. Thank God it’s not.
I have given up. I have been trying to convince myself fat is fabulous even though I know it’s not – I feel icky, I’m sick all the time, my knees hurt, I can’t walk up & down my apartment steps without being out of breath, I can’t do things I want to do (like Zipline) because I’m too heavy! Being fat is NOT fabulous and I know it.
I really needed to see this today. I need to get out of my ‘I’ve given up, fat is fabulous’ funk and do something! If I don’t win I will definitely be buying a copy of this book! Just from what I’ve seen on Diane’s site, the cover of the book – she’s a true inspiration and I know that she “gets” me because she’s been there. She knows what it’s like to have to lose such a huge amount of weight…

I read the article “Managing the Munchies.” I chose this title because everyday when I’m sitting in my office, I start munching. It’s only been within the last month or so that I’ve been doing this but it’s gotten ridiculously out of hand and I recognize that.
The tips given are good ones, and reminded me that I should take to drinking hot tea in the afternoon — I actually HAVE a tea pot in my office and I don’t use it nearly enough. I appreciate the tips and look forward to seeing what else is on the site as I sift through it. Whether or not I win the contest, it’s a book that I’m going to pick up. Coming from someone who’s done it on her own, I can’t think of a better guide.

Woot woot I never win anything so I’m doubly excited to win this book because like I said I never win anything but even more so because I need this book so bad! She’s such an inspiration and knowing that someone else has lost the exact same amount of weight I need to lose really hits home. Can’t wait to get this so I can dive right in!
